I found this old stone bridge recently, having photographed the valley in which it sits I climbed down off the road, slipping most of the way on the steep incline that was boggy and wet.
Thankfully the ground was soft.
Camera protected from the speedy descent, I reached the river and set up my tripod to look back up at the bridge and the river waterfalling down to my level.
I made a long exposure to accentuate the water falling and flowing out through the foreground. You can see the iron content in the water giving a reddish colour, the river picks up iron as it passes through bogland soils.
Having been out since morning on a long photography tour in the west of Ireland, lighting wasn't ideal for the location but it was worth the journey and the climb back up.
